How to give your lifestyle change
a running start with BodyByte
BodyByte is a VERY easy weight-loss software program
to use. But don't be fooled, it is also very powerful. It has been designed to have
the look and feel of a web page, even though it is a fully independent standalone
Windows program. So if you're used to web surfing, no problem. If not, each program
page contains full instructions on how to proceed. If you can read, you can use BodyByte.

BodyByte is lightning fast. If you had to perform the same complex functions on an
Internet-based online program, you'd be sitting around waiting endlessly while BodyByte
will have crunched away in fractions of seconds.
To get a running start with using
BodyByte, the following steps will probably be the way for most to go. Remember,
you decide how much detail you wish to control in your lifestyle management. If you
only want to manage your exercise programme and nothing else, just skip the nutrition
parts, and vice versa. Here are the steps...
Download BodyByte Download your country edition and version type of the BodyByte install
file, which is free. Then run the install file to install BodyByte on your computer.
The installation is complete but not activated - everything works except saving and
printing, which are locked.
Activate BodyByte Just follow the instructions for FULLY SECURE online activation
when you start BodyByte. For all country editions of the BodyByte Free version activation
is FREE. Activation is also ONCE-OFF, and your installation will remain activated
without any expiry date or time limitation. After processing your activation request,
you are immediately issued with your computer-specific Activation Code. Enter your
Activation Code and BodyByte is activated and ready to roll.
Create your user file Start BodyByte and create a user file for yourself. This is
the first step in starting to actively use the program. BodyByte allows an unlimited
number of user files, so all members of your family can use the same installation
if they want.
Fill out your User Profile Your User Profile contains all the information about yourself
and your body which you intend keeping record of. You can specify body parameters
such as your age, gender, body height, body weight, body fat percentage, up to 10
different body measurements, blood pressure, heart rate, serum cholesterol and blood
glucose. In addition, you can keep track of up to 16 different fitness parameters
in 8 fitness categories. You don't NEED to specify all of these, but remember that
the more parameters you keep track of, the more complete the feedback information
picture will be, which has an escalating effect on your motivation and diligence.
IMPORTANT: If you're on a weight-loss programme DO keep record of as many body measurements
as possible as well as body fat percentage, not just your body weight. You will see
the value of this when you strike a weight-loss "plateau" at some stage, and the

Capture your weight-loss plan Now you can get down to business with your weight-loss
programme. Use the tools of the Nutrition module in BodyByte to capture your weight-loss
plan from any source (a diet book or magazine, the Internet, your own creation or
from a nutrition professional). You can start by locating the food items of your
weight-loss plan in the food database and copying them to your customized food list.
From there they can be easily arranged into daily meal plans according to the requirements
of your weight-loss plan. You can also enter your favorite recipes, capture nutrient
info of specialized food items not present in the database, and a lot more. Once
your weight-loss plan is captured in the form of daily meal plans, you are good to
go. Meal plans can be modified or updated at any time. You can also import ready-made
meal plans created by other BodyByte users into your user file.
Capture your exercise plan You can also get going with your fitness programme by capturing
your exercise schedule. Use the tools of the Exercise Planner in BodyByte to capture
your exercise plan from any source (a fitness book or magazine, the Internet, your
own creation or from your fitness professional). The Exercise Planner makes it easy
to create and print out your exercise schedule, which can be taken with you to the
gym or track. You will often see dedicated sports people with their notes when they
train, and they do this for good reason: a printed guide provides focus and structure
to the exercise session, and contributes hugely to your sense of achievement and
subsequent diligence. Try it - you will be pleasantly surprised! Exercise plans can
also be imported into your user file from other BodyByte users.
Start recording your history With BodyByte you can record your body condition (body
state) history, your food intake history as well as exercise history. If you wish
to lose weight, a very good point of departure is to start doing food intake recording
straight away, even before officially embarking on your weight-loss programme. This
will reveal much about your current eating pattern, and for most will turn out to
be quite an education. To make the recording process quick and easy, spend the time
to find all your regularly consumed food items and recipes in the food database and
copy them to your customized food list. Once they are all grouped together in one
place they are easier to locate, and the recording process becomes a triviality.
Also record changes in your body state regularly, at least once a week.
Evaluate your recorded history Once you have accumulated some recorded history, you
can start examining the data. The History module in BodyByte makes it easy to retrieve
the records and display the results in graphs, tables, etc. You can see very quickly
in which direction you are heading, and make informed (rather than haphazard) decisions
about the way forward. This enables you to constantly revise and adjust your plan,

energy burn rate in order to determine your energy intake for weight loss, but the
